Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Schedule: 40 hours/week, day shift, weekend coverage required
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide inpatient rehabilitation services in a hospital-based setting. The OT will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to help patients regain functional independence. This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work a full-time day schedule including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for inpatient rehabilitation patients.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and independence.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including PTs, SLPs, nurses, and physicians.
- Document assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately in the EMR system.
- Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies.
- Participate in team meetings, discharge planning, and care coordination.
- Comply with all federal, state, and organizational rehabilitation standards.
- Support weekend coverage as needed based on department scheduling.
Schedule & Work Requirements
- 40 hours per week
- Day shift (8-hour shifts)
- Weekend coverage required
- Holiday coverage required (holiday pay varies based on shift start time)
Licensure & Certification Requirements
- Must hold an active Hawaii Occupational Therapy license before the assignment begins.
- Bilingual not required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Occupational Therapy experience, preferably in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Strong clinical background in acute or post-acute rehab.
- Proficiency with EMR systems; Cerner experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, patient engagement, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required Certifications
- BLS/BCLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- Additional certifications such as ASHA, CHTA, CP training, etc., depending on assignment requirements.
