Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in medical-surgical nursing, wound management, and ostomy care, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement care for patients with acute and chronic wounds
- Perform wound treatments, dressing changes, and ostomy care (including colostomy management)
- Monitor wound healing progress and document patient outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Educate patients and families on wound care and prevention strategies
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Hands-on experience in wound care and colostomy/ostomy management
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited program
- Active New York State RN License (verified through NYSED)
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Required Certifications (One of the Following)
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) – WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) – ABWM
- Wound Care Certified (WCC) – NAWCO
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong clinical judgment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Experience working in hospital or acute care settings
