Description

Pharmacist – Night Shift | Alabama

Start Date: April 27, 2026
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Shift Options:

Night 3x10 (20:00 – 06:30)
Night 4x10 (20:00 – 06:30)
Primary Schedule: 7 On / 7 Off (20:00 – 06:30)

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (included in 7 on/7 off)
Call: None

Position Overview

Specialty: Inpatient / Acute Care Pharmacist
Facility Type: Large Acute Care Hospital
Daily Census: ~380 patients
Beds: 420
Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Medication System: Pyxis

Key Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
Perform clinical dosing (cardiac, renal, pediatric, geriatric)
Manage anticoagulation therapy and warfarin dosing
Monitor therapeutic drug levels and pharmacokinetics
Handle high-alert medications and psychotherapeutic agents
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of hospital (inpatient) experience
PharmD (preferred) or equivalent
Active RPh license
IV Certification required
Active Alabama (AL) license required at submission

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in large healthcare facilities
Travel experience preferred (strong candidates without travel may be considered)

Pharmacokinetics & therapeutic drug monitoring
High-alert medication management
