Description-

GI RN supports a 6 physician GI clinic, by assisting the Physicians with patient care and are essential to the efficient operation of outpatient clinics. This individual would not only assess and educate patients, but would be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of age appropriate care, as well as performing Hydrogen Breath Tests. The RN is responsible for Mychart messages, medication refills, prior authorizations, phone triage, patient assessment and education, and the implementation and evaluation of age appropriate care. Education is not only done in the outpatient setting, but in the inpatient setting for patients with new diagnoses. The RN will also have RN visits separate from the physician. Inadequate RN support can lead to significant delays in patient care, a decrease in patient satisfaction, significant inadequate staffing for when coverage unavailable, and potential need/increase in overtime from clinic staff.
