Travel Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer – Oklahoma City, OK

Position Overview

A leading children’s hospital in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Travel Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join its cardiovascular imaging team. This role requires strong pediatric echo competency, advanced technical skill, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high‑acuity environment. Ideal candidates bring several years of specialized experience and a strong commitment to patient‑centered care.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the required specialty
• Strong skill in applying principles of cardiovascular/radiologic technology, medical imaging, patient positioning, and medical ethics
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions
• Reliable, consistent attendance and dependability
• Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs
• Ability to maintain accurate records and work precisely with names, numbers, and codes
• Strong critical‑thinking skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Sound judgment and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Ability to understand and follow operational policies and procedures
• Professional, compassionate communication with staff, patients, and families
• High initiative, strong work ethic, and commitment to completing tasks efficiently

• Excellent attention to detail
• Core to intermediate‑level knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology
• Core to intermediate‑level knowledge of cardiovascular/radiologic technologies and terminology
• Ability to apply theory and techniques to perform, post‑process, analyze, and annotate study data with limited direction
• Ability to independently prioritize and complete clinical and non‑clinical assignments

Education Requirements

Required:

• Graduate of a CAAHEP‑accredited program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic specialty as defined by ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current BLS (AHA)
• One of the following certifications through ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT:

ARDMS:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

CCI:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)

ARRT:

• Radiography (R)
• Computed Tomography (CT)
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
• Cardiovascular‑Interventional Radiography (CI)
• Sonography (S)
• Vascular Sonography (VS)
