Description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - 12 Hour Day Shift
Shift: 12-hour day shift
Location: Patient care area (exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and waste)
Primary Duties:
- Lead patient care using nursing process within Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope Standards of Practice.
- Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
- Assume accountability for quality patient outcomes.
- Support cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in interactions.
- Actively participate in unit and department’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Support company’s nursing philosophy and demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability.
- Effectively use the nursing process to deliver patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies.
- Communicate and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) effectively.
- Serve as leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Promote change to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and improve employee morale.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required:
  - Registered nurse diploma.
  - 2+ years of nursing experience.
  - Current RN license in the state of practice.
  - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred:
  - Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  - Certification in clinical specialty area.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Physical Demand: Heavy work (lifting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, 10-20 pounds constantly).
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and hazardous materials.
- Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications/waste.
Unit Specifics:
- 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Mix of telemetry, medical, and surgical patients.
- Surgical specialties: general surgery, urology, orthopedics, ENT, and GYN.
Additional Info:
- CPI: Not required for this role (upload a document stating this with an expiration date of one year).
- Urgency: Immediate start is required after multiple delays.
