Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / OR Tech
Unit: Surgical Services (OR Tech)
Shift: Days, 5x8-Hour (07:00 AM – 03:30 PM / 11:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Duration: 13 weeks

Start date: 04/20/2026
Location: Walla Walla, WA 99362
 

Job Summary:
We are seeking the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / OR Tech provides perioperative support in the operating room by preparing sterile fields, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly handled. This role supports patient safety and efficient surgical workflow across multiple specialties.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain sterile field using aseptic technique
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
  • Ensure proper setup and turnover of operating rooms
  • Handle, label, and manage surgical specimens
  • Perform sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment
  • Maintain accurate equipment and supply documentation
  • Adhere to universal protocol and safety standards (time-out procedures)
  • Support emergency procedures and trauma cases as needed
  • Assist with robotic and laparoscopic procedures when required

Certifications & Licensure:

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (Required)
  • NBSTSA Certification (Preferred)
  • Washington State License (Required)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Travel experience required (No first-time travelers)
  • Experience in Ambulatory OR, General OR
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I & II experience preferred

Additional Skills:

  • General, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN surgical procedures
  • Trauma and emergency case handling
  • Robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Mako – Preferred)
  • Endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures
  • Knowledge of surgical equipment including drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optics

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Surgical Tech / OR Tech: 1 year (Required)

Languages:

  • English (Read, Write, Speak)
