Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse with strong skills in Labor & Delivery, Nursery care, and couplet care. This role supports a rural healthcare environment in Hawaii, managing approximately 45–50 deliveries per month.

The nurse may be asked to float to other departments as needed, but will not serve as the primary nurse outside their specialty. Additional compensation is provided when performing charge nurse duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and couplet care settings
• Perform intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring
• Support childbirth services for 45–50 deliveries monthly
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care according to clinical guidelines
• Float to support other departments when required (not as primary RN)
• Complete accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EMR
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and compliance standards

Schedule & Hours

• 12-hour night shifts
• 72–80 hours every two weeks
• Holiday coverage required

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience
• Must have current Hawaii RN License
• Must have Labor & Delivery experience
• Experience in Nursery and couplet care
• Proficiency in intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring
• EMR experience: EPIC

Required Certifications

• BLS / BCLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• CPI
• ENPC
• RNC-OB, RNC-Fetal Monitoring, or equivalent EFM certification
• Additional acceptable certifications may include:
  • RNC-NIC
  • STABLE
  • NIHSS
  • AWHONN
  • ASLS
  • NBSTSA
  • Other specialty-supporting credentials
