Certifications

Basic Life Support

Description

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years RN experience
PCU / Stepdown experience required
Prior float experience strongly preferred

Required Skills

Telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation
Cardiac telemetry
IV starts
Epic EMR (required)

Clinical Competencies Include:

PCU/IMC/DOU/Stepdown care
Rapid Response / Code Team activation
IV insulin protocols (no titration)
Heparin protocols
Vasoactive and cardiac drips (no titration)
Central line, PICC, and arterial line care
Chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
Tracheostomy care
HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP
ABG interpretation
Blood product administration
Pre/Post neurosurgical care
Pre/Post hemodialysis management
Wound care & wound vacs
Isolation precautions / PPE

PCU / Stepdown Float Pool Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM May float to any PCU or Stepdown unit May float to other OSU campuses, including: Ross Heart Hospital Brain & Spine Hospital Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital Floating is to units of equal or lower acuity only BLS ACLS NIHSS (preferred/required per unit) Job ID #18064821
