Requirements

• Licensure:
  • Active Alaska (AK) RN License – Required (must be in hand)
  • Pending licenses not accepted
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • LTC experience – Required
  • Previous travel experience – Required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications:
  • BLS – Required
  • Alaska Food Worker Certification – Required
    • Completed on-site during orientation
    • One-time $10 fee

Shift & Schedule

• Shift Options:
  • 4x12 Variable OR 3x12 Variable (traveler’s choice)
• Shifts will be either Days or Nights based on facility needs
• No regular rotation between day/night shifts (except rare urgent needs)
• On-Call: Not required
• Floating: Required within scope
• Guaranteed Hours:
  • 60 hours per 2 weeks
  • May be called off for 1 (12-hour) shift per 2 weeks

Assignment Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler’s choice)
• Patient Ratio: 1:20
• Local Policy:
  • Not accepting local candidates
  • Must reside 50+ miles from facility

RTO & Holiday Requirements

• RTO Policy:
  • Maximum 2 weeks RTO for a 26-week contract
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of submission
  • No RTO will be approved after offer or contract signing
• Holiday Requirement:
  • Must work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays:
    • Thanksgiving
    • Christmas
    • New Year’s
  • Preference for candidates willing to work any holidays

Vehicle Information (Provided by Facility)

• Vehicle provided for use during assignment
  • Available 72 hours prior to contract start
  • Must be returned within 24 hours after contract end
• Usage Guidelines:
  • Only traveler is authorized driver
  • Must provide valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Personal insurance must include rental coverage
  • Vehicle use limited to within 30-mile radius and “around town” only
  • No off-road use permitted
• Additional Notes:
  • Vehicle must be returned clean and with full tank of gas
  • Tire chains available at additional cost
  • Vehicle must be returned during time off and reassigned upon return
