Position Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures using radionuclides to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating disease. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care, image quality, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance while working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.

Key Responsibilities

Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures as ordered by physicians
Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety and dosage guidelines
Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment
Ensure accurate patient identification, preparation, and positioning
Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff, and self
Assess image quality and ensure diagnostic accuracy prior to submission
Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions
Maintain accurate documentation and records in the electronic medical record
Adhere to departmental policies, hospital standards, and regulatory requirements
Participate in rotating on-call coverage as required

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program

Experience

Previous nuclear medicine experience preferred
New graduates with appropriate certification are encouraged to apply

Certification / Licensure

ARRT-N: Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine, OR
CNMT: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through NMTCB
Must maintain active certification in good standing
