Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (04/27/2026 – 07/26/2026)

Shift: Days (06:30 – 15:00 or 08:00 – 17:00) | 40 Hours Weekly

Job Summary

Seeking an adaptable OR RN to support a busy surgical department. The ideal candidate is a proficient Circulator who can manage a diverse surgical board, with a specific focus on high-volume Orthopedic and General cases. While circulating is the primary requirement, the ability to Scrub is considered a significant bonus. You will be part of a collaborative surgical team in a facility that balances community-centered care with advanced laparoscopic and orthopedic technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Surgical Circulation: Act as the patient advocate and "unscrubbed" coordinator within the sterile suite; manage patient positioning, skin prep, and documentation.
• Specialty Support: Assist in a variety of procedures including Total Joint Replacements (Knees, Hips, Shoulders, Ankles), Podiatry, GYN, and General/Laparoscopic surgeries.
• Intra-Operative Safety: Lead surgical time-outs, perform meticulous sponge and instrument counts, and ensure all sterile barriers are maintained.
• On-Call Duties: Participate in the unit's rotating call schedule, typically 1–2 days per week and 1 weekend per month.
• Documentation: Utilize Epic to maintain accurate operative records and implant logs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of OR experience preferred. Must be proficient in Ortho, GYN, and General surgery.
• Licensure: Active Texas (TX) or Compact RN License.
• Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required.
• Skills: Strong circulating skills required; Scrub experience highly preferred.
• Nursys: A current Nursys report (within the last 30 days) must be provided upon submission.

Unit & Facility Details

• Location: Mesquite, TX 75149.
• COVID-19: Facility manages COVID-positive patients in the surgical setting as needed.
• Scrubs: Any color permitted; hospital-laundered scrubs are also provided for the OR.
• Urgency: Critical Order (Level 3) – Priority for interview.

Financial & Logistics Notes

• Shift Flexibility: Be prepared for either a 06:30 or 08:00 start time based on the daily surgical schedule.
• On-Call: Ensure your agency specifies the on-call and call-back rates, as these are required per unit needs.
• Submission Checklist: Must include Resume, Skills Checklist, 2 References, Licenses/Certs, and Nursys Report.
