DESCRIPTION:

 

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Shift: Nights | 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Assignment Type: Travel / Contract

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias.
  • Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
  • Perform peripheral IV line care and PICC line management.
  • Safely titrate IV drips per physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and patient care standards.
  • Float to other Cone Health campuses as required based on staffing needs.

Patient Ratio

  • Must have experience working with PCU ratios of 1:5.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of RN experience required
  • First-time travelers: Accepted
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Required Skills:
    • Cardiac telemetry monitoring
    • Dysrhythmia management and interpretation
    • Peripheral IV and PICC line management
    • IV drip titration
