JOB DESCRIPTION
RN - Pediatric Oncology/Hematology and Adolescent Medicine
● Unit Information:
· Beds: 16 on PHO and 16 on PA
▪ Average 14-32 patients per day
· Minimum Years of Experience required?
▪ PHO: 1 year in Pediatric hem/oncology acute care
▪ PA: 1 year in pediatric acute care
· Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with a strong pediatric background
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
· Leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, behavioral health overlay, general adolescent medicine
● Patient Ratios:
· RN:
▪ Peds Hem/Oncology - 1: 3-4
▪ Peds Adolescent Medicine – 1:4-5
· CNA: 1:6-16
● Required Licensure & Certifications:
· PA: BLS, PALS preferred
· PHO: BLS, PALS preferred, APHON required chemo certification required

● Technology/Equipment:
· EMR: Epic
· IV Pump: Alaris
· Med dispensing: Omnicell
· Monitors:
· Unit specific equipment:
● Floating: If yes, where?

● Scheduling:
· Weekend rotation: every other
· No on call requirement
· Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
· RTO: NM
· Shift time: 7a-7p
· Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
● Other notes:
· Scrub Color: Royal blue, can wear pediatric appropriate scrub top
· Parking: Free
· Unit Culture: Team oriented, supportive, and family centered. High emphasis on professional growth, education and safety.
