Job Title: Registered Nurse- Labor & Delivery
Location: Albany, GA, 31701
Shift: Days / Night
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 17 weeks
Position Summary:
Experienced Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) with 2+ years of acute care experience providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in high-acuity settings. Skilled in labor management, fetal monitoring, and assisting with deliveries while ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes. Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NRP, with a strong ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Holds an active Georgia (GA) State RN license and demonstrates excellent collaboration with obstetricians and interdisciplinary teams. Committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with clinical standards and protocols.e healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency care.
The candidate must reside outside a 72-mile radius from the facility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to laboring and postpartum patients, including continuous maternal and fetal monitoring
- Assist physicians during deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean births, ensuring patient safety
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as needed
- Monitor and assess patient and newborn conditions, responding promptly to complications
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
Skills:
- Fetal monitoring and interpretation (NST, EFM)
- Labor and delivery management
- Neonatal resuscitation (NRP certified)
- Emergency response and critical thinking
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Patient assessment and care planning
- Strong communication and patient education
- Team collaboration with OB/GYN and multidisciplinary teams
- Time management and multitasking in high-acuity settings
- Knowledge of BLS and ACLS protocols
Documents Required:
- Valid GA State RN license
- NRP Certified through AHA
- ACLS Certified through AHA
- BLS Certified through AHA
