Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of medical instruments and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures and experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Schedule

• Shift: Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
• Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts
• Rotating weekends required
• Holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments
• Assemble, inspect, and package instrument trays and sets
• Prepare and manage case carts for surgical procedures
• Ensure proper labeling, wrapping, and sterilization of instruments
• Maintain accurate equipment documentation and tracking systems
• Follow established infection control and safety protocols
• Support operating room staff with sterile instrument needs

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Decontamination and disinfection
  • Tray assembly and instrument organization
  • Preference cards and case cart preparation
  • Sterilization and wrapping procedures
  • Equipment documentation and Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
  •  
• Experience processing specialty equipment, including:
  • Bariatric, Cardiac, Dental
  • ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat), General, Laparoscopic
  • Neurology, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry
  • Robotics, Transplant, Urology, Vascular
    
    Certification Requirements
  • IAHCSMM / HSPA Certification (Required)
