American Consultants is looking for a travel ED nurse for a critical access hospital in Minnesota. The shift is variable or you can opt to do straight nights.

Pay Package:

Taxable $41/hour

Tax Free $1246/week

Total: $2722/week

Job Summary:

The Travel ER Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a small critical access hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to function independently with limited on-site resources. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients across all age groups presenting with acute and emergent conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rapid assessments and triage patients based on acuity
• Provide emergency nursing care for trauma, medical, and pediatric patients
• Stabilize patients for transfer to higher-level care facilities when needed
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per provider orders
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, EMS, and interdisciplinary team members
• Operate emergency equipment (defibrillators, ventilators, etc.)
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as required
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact state preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Room experience
• Prior experience in rural or critical access hospital strongly preferred
• Current certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred or required by facility
• Strong triage and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently with limited resources
