Histology Technologist (Temporary)
Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
- Perform embedding, cutting, staining, and grossing of small biopsies.
- Operate applicable office equipment and use personal computers with relevant software.
- Maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit effective interdepartmental and public communication skills.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
- Follow histologic techniques, procedures, and safety precautions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Histology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- HT, HTL, or ASCP certification required.
- Experience with Epic Anatomic Pathology (AP) system required.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is days.
- Some unbillable overtime may be required.
- The facility provides comprehensive medical services across multiple specialties.
