Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: 1010 Murray Ave, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

Contact Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension.

Shift Timing: Night 3x12 Hours 7P-7A

Hours per week: 36 hours.

Description

Performs basic and critical respiratory care services. Has the ability to work well without supervision as well as maintain supervision over others, as delegated. Provides respiratory care services for the adult and geriatric patient. Provides respiratory care for patients with respiratory disease, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with current department policies concerning all phases of respiratory therapy. Completes paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges for each patient. This position is represented by SEIU.

Requirements

Night Shift 1900 to 0730; 3 x 12s no set scheduled days of the week/rotates. Must have 5 years of critical care experience, with 2-3 years in NICU with experience in neonatal intubation. ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP all required. On occasion there may be call for neonatal transports.

Education and Work Experience:

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.: Required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential: Preferred
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS OR HS-PALS OR RQIPALS) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days
