Blood Bank Medical Technologist (2nd Shift)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Rotating weekends & holidays)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blood Bank Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will perform a wide range of routine and complex blood bank testing to support accurate diagnoses and ensure high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate specimens for acceptability according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex blood bank testing in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance
- Make sound technical decisions and resolve testing issues efficiently
- Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and quality control materials
- Accurately report test results in a timely manner
- Perform and document quality control and preventative maintenance procedures
- Maintain adequate inventory of testing supplies and reagents
- Assist with specimen processing as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemical or Biological Science, or related field (or meet CLIA/state requirements)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience OR MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency with computers; experience with laboratory information systems preferred
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening
- Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed
