Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical‑Surgical (Night Shift)

Location: Lubbock, TX
Department: Medical‑Surgical / Acute Care Surgery
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3×12‑hour shifts

🩺 Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
Manage a typical 1:5 nurse‑to‑patient ratio
Care for post‑operative and acute medical patients
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop nursing care plans
Administer medications including insulin and PCA therapy
Manage IV therapy, blood products, PICC lines, and central line care
Provide respiratory support including:
- Oxygen therapy
- BiPAP/CPAP
- HFNC
- Tracheostomy care
Provide wound care, manage surgical drains, and support wound vac therapy
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies using Rapid Response/Code Teams
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Case Management)
Document care accurately in Epic (hard stop)

📋 Required Qualifications

Active RN license (state of practice)
Minimum 1 year Medical‑Surgical RN experience
BLS & ACLS
Epic experience (HARD STOP)
Ability to float to other acute care / med‑surg units
Willingness to work every other weekend (6 shifts per 6‑week period)
