Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Facility: Midland Memorial Hospital
Location: 400 Rosalind Redfern Grover Pkwy, Midland, TX 79701
Contract Details:
- Start Date: 04/27/2026

- Positions: 2
- Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
Requirements:
- Years of Experience: 2+
- Previous Charge Experience: Required
- Travel Experience: Not required (but appropriate experience needed)
- Must be able to circulate, transition babies, and labor
Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- NIHSS
Preferred Certifications:
- AWHONN Advanced
- AWHONN Intermediate
- FHM
Preferred Charting System: Cerner
Patient Ratios: 1:2 (Days & Nights)
Float Required: Yes (Antepartum)
Orientation Hours: 36
Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adults
Daily Census: Fluctuating
Visits Per Day: 20

Work Settings:
- Antepartum
- Labor & Delivery
- LDRP
- High Risk Antepartum
- Facility births/month: 200-300
Skills Required:
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy
- Administration of blood & blood products
- Drawing Venous Blood
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
Medication Administration:
- Antihypertensives
- Magnesium Sulfate therapy
- Pitocin (oxytocin)
- Terbutaline
- Insulin drips (preferred)
Labor & Delivery Management:
- Assist with high risk delivery
- Assist with vaginal delivery
- Circulate for C-section
- Recover C-Section
- Forceps/vacuum extraction (preferred)
- Hemorrhage/shock (preferred)
Fetal Monitoring:
- Use of External Fetal Monitoring
- Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring
- Use of IUPC placement and calibration
- Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Postpartum Care:
- Breastfeeding support
- Foley catheter insertion/management
- Fundus/lochia/perineum care
- Postpartum Hemorrhage
- Cesarean Section recovery
- Pregnancy induced hypertension
Neonatal Care:
- APGAR scores
- Baby Nurse ("Baby Catcher")
- ID/Security Banding
- Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation
