Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT/MLS)

Location: Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Facility: Eureka Springs Hospital
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday–Tuesday)
 

Position Overview

Eureka Springs Hospital is seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a 13-week travel assignment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in accordance with established standards and procedures
• Conduct venipuncture and specimen collection accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers, including:
  • Chemistry analyzers
  • Urinalysis (UA) analyzers
  • Hematology analyzers
  • Coagulation analyzers
• Perform daily quality control and maintenance per guidelines
• Complete tests efficiently and ensure timely reporting of results
• Adhere to Universal Precautions and all safety protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies

Blood Bank Responsibilities (Preferred)

• Blood typing (ABO/Rh)
• Antibody screening
• Compatibility testing
• Quality control procedures

Additional Duties

• Perform miscellaneous lab testing (serological, microbiological, microscopic, etc.)
• Communicate critical information effectively with physicians, supervisors, and team members
• Maintain professionalism and provide excellent service to patients and staff
• Ensure high standards of performance, conduct, and reliability

Requirements

• MT, MLT, or MLS certification (ASCP, AMT or equivalent)
• Previous clinical laboratory experience required
• Blood bank experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
