GHR Healthcare is hiring a Blood Bank MLS (ASCP) in Philadelphia – Level I Trauma hospital | TRUE Blood Banker role (no generalists)!

If you have strong trauma blood bank experience and advanced transfusion expertise, this is a high-impact opportunity in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Free parking during these shifts

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Perform complex blood bank testing and process blood products per SOPs
• Execute antibody identification using advanced techniques and reference reagents
• Investigate and document transfusion reactions
• Select, modify, and issue blood products based on trauma and patient-specific needs
• Maintain blood inventory, including ordering, rotation, and product verification
• Perform QC on instruments and reagents, troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Utilize special transfusion protocols in high-acuity situations
• Communicate with care teams and medical leadership during critical scenarios
• Ensure compliance with labeling, quality systems, and regulatory standards
• Assist with training of new staff and MLS students

Requirements:

• ASCP certification – required
• Level I Trauma Blood Bank experience – essential
• Strong, recent Blood Bank background (NOT a generalist)
• Cerner or EPIC experience required (both preferred)
• Experience with ECHO and Ortho MTS instrumentation required
• Background in infusion services and instrumentation required

This is a high-level Blood Bank role for someone who wants to work at the top of their license in a true trauma setting.

Pay: $3,033/weekly travel
