Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Telemetry
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry with some oncology patients
- Shift Options: 48-hour or 36-hour shifts
- Start Dates Available: May 4 and May 18
- Patient Ratio: 1:12 (team nursing model with 2 RNs, LPNs, and Med Nurse)
- On-Call: As needed
- Weekend Requirement: As needed (no weekend block scheduling, but weekend blocks may be considered)
- Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted
- Pending licenses are not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Level I Trauma Center experience
- Trauma patient care experience
- Experience working in a large hospital setting
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required and must be renewed annually (except pediatric settings)
Licensure
- Valid Tennessee RN license or multistate RN license under Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Additional Requirements
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit mask test (3M N-95 1860 or 1870+), passed within 1 year of start
- Immunizations required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with specific booster and titer requirements)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
- Two recent professional references required
- Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually

- Level I Trauma Center
- Short-term acute care hospital
- Team nursing model with mixed skill levels
Notes
- Candidates must submit all required documentation including professional license, certifications, background checks, and health records prior to start
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses glare, no hats/head coverings except for religious reasons, no facial piercings)
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg/Telemetry RNs with oncology and trauma experience who have prior travel nursing assignments and are ready to work in a fast-paced, large hospital environment.
