Travel Emergency Room RN – Utica, NY

Location: Utica, New York
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Job Overview:

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department providing care for a wide range of high-acuity conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.

Patient Population: Newborn, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatric
Unit Size: 64 beds

Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun
Floating: Required
Charge Nurse Experience: Highly preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting.
Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritize patient care based on severity.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
Monitor and document patient status using Epic EMR.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Respond to emergency situations including trauma, cardiac arrest, and critical care cases.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
 

Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in ED with some PEDS experience required.
Active New York RN license
Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
Prior travel experience preferred
