Description
Job Title: Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour day shifts)
- 40 hours/week
- No on-call requirements
Position Summary
The Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist is responsible for supporting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. This role involves operating specialized equipment, monitoring patient status, and ensuring a safe and sterile procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during electrophysiology procedures, including diagnostic studies and ablations
- Operate EP lab equipment such as cardiac mapping systems and recording systems
- Monitor and document patient cardiac rhythms and vital signs throughout procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and sterile fields
- Support implantation procedures (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs)
- Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary cardiac team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an Electrophysiology Lab or related cardiac setting
- Must hold at least one of the following certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- RCES (Registered Electrophysiology Specialist)
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology procedures, and sterile techniques
