Registered Nurse - IMC (Intermediate Care)

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Call Requirements: Yes
  • Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC)
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
  • Unit Beds: 30
  • Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
  • Float Requirements: Medical Surgical and Telemetry (ED holds if up for admit)
  • EHR System: Medhost

Patient Types on Unit

  • STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
  • NSTEMI (Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
  • CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  • Sepsis
  • CABG pod 2 (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • Acute Respiratory Failure
  • Atrial Fibrillation with RVR (Rapid Ventricular Response)
  • ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion)
  • EXLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
  • Medical-Surgical nursing experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications required:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Additional Information

  • No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed
  • Orientation is conducted weekly
  • Call requirements apply
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status

This position offers the opportunity to work in a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center with a Level 3 Trauma designation. The location provides access to outdoor recreation and is within driving distance to major cities and national parks.
