EEG Tech with PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (experience to include neonates, up to 18yrs, also experience with children with special needs. )
First time travelers accepted (Y/N): Yes
EMR: Cerner
Block scheduling allowed (Y/N): Yes
Start date: as soon as possible
Contract length: 1 weeks possibly more

? License required: Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) registration through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)

? Basic knowledge of or ability to learn various electroencephalographic procedures and processes.
? Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

? Applies knowledge of intra-operative EEG?s and at least one modality of evoke potential, under supervision of the medical director. Applies knowledge of neuroanatomy and physiology, basic electronic and electrical safety, general knowledge of EEG instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence the EEG.
? Implements alternative methods of adjusting controls to obtain optimal recording which may include appropriate control setting changes on the machine, use of extra electrodes, extra montages, and use of activation procedure.
? Writes a comprehensive patient history gathering appropriate information from patient, patients record, and family members to include seizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptomatology and medications.
? Measures and accurately applies electrodes in a timely manner, according to the international 10-20 system.
? Ensures that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards
? Recognizes artifact (patient or environment). Documents, eliminates, or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact.
? Take appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensure patient safety at all times.
? Possesses knowledge of basic infection control standards relating to patients and equipment including electrodes
? Maintains equipment clean and proper working order
? Applies knowledge of appropriate calibrations and how to make adjustments.
? Troubleshoots equipment problems and or reports them to Agility.
? Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with patients, patient families, laboratory staff, physicians, and other members of the hospital staff.
? Performs EEG records according to the standards of the laboratory (routine, sleep, bedside, and electrocerebral silence recordings).
? Participates in conferences and technical meetings.
