📌 Pharmacist – IHS (Blackfeet Community Hospital)

🧾 Job Summary

The Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care services, including medication dispensing, clinical review, and patient counseling. This role ensures safe, effective, and compliant medication practices while supporting quality patient care in a federal healthcare setting.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
• Dispense prescriptions and ensure proper labeling and documentation
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and adherence
• Monitor for drug interactions and adverse reactions
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on treatment plans
• Maintain accurate patient medication records using EHR systems
• Administer immunizations (if certified)
• Participate in inventory management and controlled substance audits
• Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate care (CPR if required)

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

💼 Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience (clinical or hospital preferred)
• Experience in federal/IHS or rural healthcare settings is a plus

🕒 Work Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shift with 1-hour lunch)
• Occasional weekend or emergency coverage as needed
