Med Surg / Telemetry RN – Night Shift | 36 hrs | Ortho Unit
Location: (Add facility/location)
Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 hrs/week (3x12s)
💼 Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Med-Surg / Telemetry RN to join a busy 55-bed unit with a strong focus on orthopedic and acute care patients. This unit sees a high volume of admissions and discharges—ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
🩺 Patient Population
- Joint replacements & fractures (Ortho)
- COPD, pneumonia, sepsis
- GI bleeds, colon resections
- Cellulitis, prostatectomy
- General Med-Surg / Tele patients
📊 Unit Details
- Ratios: 1:5–6
- Charge nurse present (no assignment)
- Telemetry tech support available
- CNAs: 1:10–20
- Drips: Heparin, Lidocaine, Ketamine
- Equipment: Mechanical lifts available
📅 Schedule & Requirements
- Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- Floating: Med-Surg level only
- Orientation: 2 days + pass/fail exam (90% required, open book)
✅ Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum Med-Surg experience (Tele preferred)
- Must be comfortable with Ortho patients
- Strong time management & teamwork skills
🚫 Important Notes
- 50-mile radius rule (strict) – Driver’s license required at submission
- Cannot be employed with CommonSpirit Health / CHI / Dignity facilities
- No artificial nails allowed
- RTO: Max 7 days for 13-week contract
