Job Description

Provide nursing care on a medical-surgical unit during night shifts with a patient ratio of 1:6. The position follows an every-other-week rotation schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable
• Must pass required background checks and drug screening
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date, updated annually
• Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or documented exemptions (influenza, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella) as applicable
• Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as required by specialty
• Two professional references required

Additional Requirements

• Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Completion of facility-specific confidentiality agreements and healthstream training
• Compliance with facility-specific exemption forms for influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations if applicable

• This is a travel contract position with no local candidates accepted.
• Candidates must be prepared to provide all required documentation and certifications prior to start.
• The role requires working night shifts with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a medical-surgical unit.
