Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Olympia, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Job Description
As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures including setup, scanning, and processing images. Key duties include:
- Communicating with radiologists, physicians, patients, and families
- Performing contrast injections
- Conducting quality control and reporting tasks
- Maintaining daily schedules
- Assisting radiologists
- Operating and maintaining MRI and auxiliary equipment
The MRI unit operates 24/7 and follows ACR imaging and safety guidelines. The MRI system includes a Toshiba Vantage Titan 1.5T magnet with two technologists on duty at all times. The facility provides care for both inpatients and outpatients and emphasizes MRI safety and quality imaging for excellent patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT (R) certification
- ARRT MR certification
- BLS certification
Additional Information
- No on-call required
- All required return-to-office (RTO) days must be included in submission
- Local travelers residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency
- Completion of facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp modules prior to start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Color blindness testing if required by unit
- Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable
Notes
- Locals residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
- First-time travelers are accepted
- No pending licenses accepted
- This is a night shift position with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped MRI department with a focus on safety and quality imaging in a short-term acute care setting.
