Description
EEG Technician (Electroencephalography Technologist)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts (Days or Nights)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced EEG studies, including:
- Routine EEG
- Sleep and sleep-deprived EEG
- Long-term and video EEG monitoring
- Accurately place electrodes using standard techniques (e.g., 10–20 system, collodion/glue application)
- Monitor and document patient brain activity and recognize abnormal patterns
- Assist with additional neurodiagnostic procedures such as:
- Evoked potentials (SSEP, auditory, visual, motor)
- EMG and nerve conduction studies (as needed)
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain EEG and related equipment
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with clinical protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Provide care across various units, including ICU, NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, and inpatient settings
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of EEG Technician experience
- Active BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Certification in ABRET or R.EEGT
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pediatric and critical care settings
- Experience in Level I Trauma or teaching hospitals
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
- Certification in CLTM (Certified Long-Term Monitoring)
