Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Approx. 5–6 shifts per contract)
On-Call: Not required

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care across multiple patient populations. This role involves working independently as the sole RT on shift, requiring strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care to adult and neonatal patients in acute care settings
• Perform airway management procedures including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Administer oxygen therapy using devices such as HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilators
• Manage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, including troubleshooting alarms and weaning
• Perform tracheostomy care and manage airway devices
• Administer aerosol therapies including nebulizers (handheld, T-piece, trach collar)
• Collect sputum specimens and assist in diagnostic procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including rapid response teams and physicians
• Maintain accurate documentation in the charting system

Patient & Unit Details:

• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
• Daily Census: Approx. 10 patients
• Beds: 25
• Rooms: 13
• Support Teams: Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Team

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
• Active RRT Certification
• BLS Certification
• Prior travel experience required
• Ability to work independently (only RT on shift)
• Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
