Description
Job Title: CVOR Technician – Surgical Services
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (06:30 – 19:00)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the CVOR environment for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, managing surgical equipment, and monitoring patient status.
- Handle specialty equipment, including crash carts and hybrid OR tools.
- Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols.
- Document procedures accurately in the charting system.
- Collaborate with surgical teams in teaching and trauma hospital settings.
- Travel as required to support multiple locations or assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, with at least 1 year in a Level I trauma center.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and NBSTSA certification.
- Ability to work in high-acuity environments, including trauma and transplant cases.
- Travel experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in teaching or community hospitals.
- Familiarity with charting systems in the OR.
- Skills in advanced cardiovascular procedures:
- Aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, EVAR, TEVAR
- Carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass, vein stripping
- Thoracic procedures including VATS and lung resection
- Transplant surgeries (heart, lung)
