Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Columbus, OH
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Job Overview
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit
- Work in a Level IV L&D setting with approximately 450 deliveries per month
- Care for neonates, adolescents, and adult patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret abnormal heart rate patterns
- Assist with and circulate for C-sections; provide post-operative care
- Administer medications including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
- Support pain management, including epidural care
- Perform obstetrical triage and antepartum assessments
- Provide neonatal care in the delivery room (APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, etc.)
- Assist with breastfeeding and postpartum recovery care
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC charting system
Schedule & Work Details
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to antepartum and other units as needed
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Up to 2 requests for time off allowed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Advanced Certification (or NCC C-EFM equivalent)
- EPIC charting experience required
