School LPN – 1:1 Student Support | Spanaway, WA

We are currently seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a student in Spanaway, WA for an immediate start through the end of the school year in June.
Pay Rate: $40–$46 per hour
About the Opportunity
This is a part-time, in-person school-based opportunity supporting a student with complex medical needs. This position includes providing 1:1 nursing care on the bus to and from school meeting points, in addition to supporting the student during the school day. The nurse will also assist with ECSE support and help in the health room when ECSE services are not in session.
Job Details
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of school year in June
Schedule: 4 days per week, varying days
Hours: 6:45 AM–2:15 PM, 7 hours x 4 days per week, totaling 30 hours per week
Setting: School-based
Assignment: 1:1 student support, including transportation support on the bus
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with complex medical needs
- Deliver care for a student with tracheostomy, seizure disorder, GJ tube, quadriplegia, and additional support needs
- Provide nursing care on the bus to and from school meeting points as part of the student’s daily transportation routine
- Support the student throughout the school day to ensure health, safety, and access to learning
- Assist with ECSE support as needed
- Help support the health room when ECSE services are not in session
- Monitor the student’s condition and respond appropriately to health and safety needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow all district and nursing protocols
- Collaborate with school staff, family, and related providers to support student success
Qualifications
- Current Washington LPN license
- Prior experience working with pediatric patients preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care, seizure monitoring, GJ tube care, and medically fragile students strongly preferred
- Comfortable providing 1:1 care during student transportation, including on the bus to and from school meeting points
- Ability to support students with significant physical and medical needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
