Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Chicago, IL
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: May 12, 2026
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Overview

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a Labor & Delivery unit with high-risk obstetric patients
• Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to Level III OB care
• Support patients through labor, delivery, recovery, and observation phases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with high-risk labor and delivery cases
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement
• Circulate for C-sections and provide post-operative recovery care
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and obstetrical triage
• Administer medications including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin, and heparin drips
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and perform IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Document patient care using Cerner charting system

Schedule & Work Details

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Floating is mandatory based on facility needs
• No block scheduling available

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• High-risk (Level III) OB experience required
• Multi-facility or travel experience preferred
• Active RN license required
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Cerner charting experience required
