Description

Travel Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) – Surgical Pathology

Location: Newnan, GA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

You will join a highly engaged, collaborative laboratory team dedicated to diagnostic excellence in cancer care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform gross examination and dissection of large, complex surgical specimens
Perform gross examination and dissection of small biopsies
Section surgical pathology specimens and prepare tissues for processing
Accession, receive, label, and fix specimens accurately
Perform tumor triage and obtain samples for flow cytometry
Cut and stain frozen sections using a cryostat
Assist with bone marrow collections
Utilize specialized equipment including cryostat and bone saw
Document procedures in Epic (preferred)
Collaborate closely with pathologists to support accurate oncologic diagnoses

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year Pathologists’ Assistant experience (REQUIRED)
Experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting
Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Grossing complex and small specimens
- Specimen accessioning and fixation
- Frozen section preparation
- Tumor triage and flow cytometry sampling
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative lab team
