Med Surg RN – Nights | 36/48 Hours | Deaconess Midtown

Location: Deaconess Midtown – Indiana
Shift: 12 Hour Nights | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week (48 available)

💼 Job Overview

Seeking a strong Med Surg RN for a busy teaching hospital environment. Ideal candidate will have solid acute care experience, trauma background, and strong clinical judgment.

🩺 Patient Population

• Post-surgical patients
• UTI
• Sepsis
• COPD
• CHF
• High fall risk patients

📋 Required Skills

• Remote telemetry
• Chest tubes
• NG/PEG tubes
• Foley/Straight Cath
• Ostomy care
• Heparin drips
• Blood/Blood product administration
• Tracheostomy care
• PCA pump management

✅ Requirements

• Active Compact RN License
• AHA BLS Required
• NIHSS Required
• 2+ Years Strong Med Surg Experience
• Minimum 1 Prior Travel Assignment
• Trauma Level II Experience Required
• Recent Epic Systems Experience Required

📍 Float Requirements

• First to float within skillset
• May float to:
  • Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles)
  • Deaconess Henderson (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice for cross-campus float

📅 Weekend / Holiday

• 3 weekends every 6 weeks
• Every other holiday

• 3 Call-ins may result in termination
• Teaching hospital—may precept students/new hires
