Unit Description: OB Unit Beds & Facilities: - 3 Labor & Delivery rooms, 1 OB-specific OR, 4 triage beds (including LDRs), 7 postpartum beds - Average 300 births per year - Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines 

Required Skills & Certifications: - Experience in labor, newborn nursery, and postpartum care 

Certifications: NRP, BLS - Must titrate magnesium sulfate and Pitocin 

Common Diagnoses: - Preeclampsia, Gestational Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes, Fetal Growth Restriction, Large for Gestational Age Staff & Support: -Charge Nurse and House Supervisor -New grads serve as techs temporarily -No 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist Technology & Equipment: -RNs read fetal strips via Cerner (EFM system) -Respiratory support: vents, CPAP, BiPAP available Shifts & Requirements: -12-hour shifts (7-7), flexible schedule -2 weekends/month, holiday shifts required -No on-call for travelers 

Floating: may assist other departments when needed
