Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: Nights (6 PM – 6 AM)

• Unit: 33-bed Cardiac Care/Stepdown Unit (CVCU/Stepdown)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Specialty Focus: Telemetry Cardiac, Stepdown care
• EMR: Allscripts
• Trauma Level: Level 2

Job Summary

The RN will provide direct nursing care to patients in the CVCU/Stepdown unit. This includes monitoring cardiac telemetry, managing complex patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a telemetry/stepdown or critical care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in the CVCU/Stepdown unit.
• Monitor patient physiological status, identify changes, and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, initiate and regulate IV infusions, and manage blood products.
• Document patient responses and maintain accurate records of treatments and physician orders.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, providing education and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in hospital policies, procedures, and safety initiatives.

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry, stepdown, or cardiac care
• ICU/critical care experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Oklahoma RN License (or multistate compact RN license eNLC)
• BLS/ACLS (Required)
• NIHSS certification

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of telemetry and stepdown nursing practices
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate patient care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and families
