Neuro Med Surg Tele RN – Nights | Deaconess IL Medical Center

Location: Deaconess IL Medical Center – Illinois
Shift: 12 Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Start Date: 5/18
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Neuro Med Surg Tele RN for a neuro-focused unit caring for stroke, neuro-surgical, and medical overflow patients. Ideal candidate will have strong neuro assessment skills, telemetry knowledge, and acute care experience.

Patient Population

CVA / Stroke Patients
Neuro-Surgical / Post-Procedure Patients
Elective Back/Neck Surgeries
Cerebral Angiograms
General Medical Overflow

Required Skills

NIHSS / Dysphagia Screening
Strong Neuro Assessments
Basic Telemetry Interpretation
Strict I&O Monitoring
Foley / Straight Cath
Heparin Drip Initiation/Titration
Blood Product Administration
Venipuncture / Blood Cultures
NG Tubes
Drain Management
Stable Drips (Protonix, Lasix, etc.)

Requirements

Active Illinois RN License
AHA BLS Required
AHA ACLS Required
NIHSS Required
Minimum 2 Years Strong Med Surg/Tele Experience
Minimum 1 Prior Travel Assignment
Neuro Experience Required
Recent Epic Systems Experience Required

22 Bed Neuro Unit
Ratio: 1:4
Charge Nurse Takes Patient Assignment

Float Requirements

May Float to Medical Unit

Weekend / Holiday

Every Other Weekend
Every Other Holiday
