Job Opportunity: RN Inpatient Psych

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts, typically 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Holidays and every other weekend required
• Weekend off requests require coverage or prior approval
• Blocked scheduling must be pre-approved
• Training provided for charge nurse responsibilities
• Possible floating to a similar inpatient addiction rehab unit
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience
• Psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Completion of Arnot Naloxone Train the Trainer Course
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in charge nurse roles

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Professional Documentation

• Complete last 28 years of addresses with no gaps
• Resume covering all employment and gaps for last 7 years, including education details
• Two professional references: one supervisor from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer from last 3 years
• Employment and education verifications as applicable
• Signed job description and code of conduct forms
• Background checks including national and county criminal searches, FACIS 3, and SSN address trace (within 30 days of start)
• Drug screen (9+ panel) within 30 days of start
• Valid US driver’s license or state ID (not expired)
• Color headshot photo (professional, no filters)

Health and Immunization

• COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional)
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form
• Influenza vaccine or declination form (mask required if declined)
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Tdap: Preferred but not required (within last 10 years) or declination form
• TB test: Annual requirement with specific testing protocols (PPD or Quantiferon)
• Fit test for approved respirator models within last 12 months
• Physical/Health statement within last 12 months including vitals and vision test, no restrictions

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to work holidays and every other weekend
• Floating to related units may be required
• Charge nurse training will be provided
• Strict adherence to uniform policy (navy blue scrubs)
