Job Description

Type of Patients on Unit: outpatient to critical care inpatient

Number of Beds: Main 22, ASC 8, Ortho 10

Patient Ratios: 1:1

Equipment: various kinds DaVinci for the Robot

EMR: EPIC

Call Requirements: Any day scheduled, average around 5 or less per 8 weeks

Float Requirements: As required by facility

 

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards

 

Overview: Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Code of Conduct, Mercy Mission and Values and Mercy Service Standards. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility.

 

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Stand and walk most of the time on duty. Lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. Usually work in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.

 

Must have Skills/Exp:  2 years Level 1 or 2 Trauma Experience (Teaching hospital experience will be required); Scrub and OR Circulator experience

Preferred Skillset/Experience: Level 1 trauma with multiple years of experience

Scrub Color: Provided

 

Requirements:

2YRS+ Exp Working in Specialty 

2YRS+ Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting 

ACTIVE BLS (AHA)

ACTIVE ACLS (AHA)

Must Have Skills/Experience: 2 years Level 1 or 2 Trauma Experience (Teaching hospital experience will be required); Scrub and OR Circulator experience

Preferred Skillset/Experience: Level 1 trauma with multiple years of experience
