● Patient Ratios:
o RN – 1:1
o Tech – 1:1
● Required Certifications:
o RN: BLS
o Surg Tech: BLS, CST (NBSTSA)
o Surg Asst.: BLS, CSA (NBSTSA)
o SPTs do not require BLS or specialty certification
● Skills required
o RN – Circulate orthopedics, ENT, plastic, OB C-section, vascular, OBGYN Robots, General Robots, Orthopedics robotics, urology, podiatry, Sport medicine Ortho, ortho/neuro spine –CIRCULATE ONLY
o CST – Scrub orthopedics, ENT, plastic, OB C-section, vascular, OBGYN Robots, General Robots, Orthopedics robotics, urology, podiatry, Sport medicine Ortho, ortho/neuro spine
o Surgical Assist. - Robotic experience is required. This position will assist with training the core staff members with the Davinci XI. They must have experience with General surgeries and OB.
● Support on the Unit:
o Charge nurse – takes patient assignment (on Days – covers blocks if needed; PM – relieves if needed at 1715)
o MD on call, 24/7
o Nurses draw labs
o HUC, dayshift only
o Telemetry monitoring done by Anesthesia
● Charting System/Equipment:
o EPIC
o Alaris
o Pyxis
● Floating:
o Between facilities - Pleasant Prairie ASC
o SA: Racine, Pleasant Prairie, Mt. Pleasant
● Orientation:
o At least 1 shift to learn flow
● Scheduling:
o OR resource hours are from 0715-1700 for 4 rooms and 0715-1900 for two rooms. Outside of the resource hours the time is covered by call teams
o Call Schedule:
▪ RN – every 10th weekend end of shift Friday to 7am Monday morning and 1 night every other week
▪ SPT – every 4th weekend 7am to 7pm
▪ CST – every 9th weekend; end of shift Friday to 7am Monday morning and every 5th week day
▪ Surgical Assist – every 5th weekend
▪ We can approve up to 7 days off
▪ Holiday Expectations: varies based on need/specialty
