Job Title

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shifts, 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients during shifts.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, actions, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician prescriptions or protocols and document appropriately.
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
• Supervise and provide guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as required.
• Provide care for medically complex patients awaiting community placement in a long-term stay setting.
• Recognize and respond to deteriorating patient conditions promptly.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:7.
• Work weekends and participate in on-call and call-back coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of current experience in a telemetry or progressive care unit with 18+ beds.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to various clinical settings and patient needs.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Pass the onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test; candidates must pass before starting.
• Valid Nursing license (State of New Mexico or a Compact State license).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from recognized providers (AHA, HHS, or Red Cross).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR.
