Medical Technologist (Blood Bank) – Travel Assignment

GHR Healthcare is seeking a Blood Bank Medical Technologist for a high-impact travel assignment in Plainsboro, NJ. This is a great opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art hospital laboratory with strong exposure to blood bank and microbiology, just outside both NYC and Philadelphia.

Position Details

• Weekly Pay: $2,480
• Schedule: 5x8s – 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• Setting: Hospital Laboratory
• Weekend/Holiday: Every 4th weekend + holidays required

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform blood bank testing including type & screen, crossmatching, and compatibility testing
• Conduct antibody identification and elution studies
• Prepare and issue blood and blood components for transfusion
• Maintain quality control, calibration, and lab equipment
• Monitor inventory of blood products
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and documentation standards
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care and diagnosis

Requirements

• ASCP (BOC) Certification – REQUIRED
• 2+ years of hospital laboratory experience REQUIRED
• Strong Blood Bank experience REQUIRED
• Experience with:
  • Antibody workups
  • Blood product preparation
  • Compatibility testing
• Familiarity with LIS systems, QC, and lab safety protocols
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
