Description
Job Description: The afternoon shift works 14:30 - 23:00.
Must have recent experience or prior comprehensive experience in blood bank or transfusion medicine; generalist-only experience will not be sufficient.
Very high-volume lab (6,000 tests PER DAY, 2.5 million tests/year); level III trauma center. The Med Tech will work afternoon shift (2:30 PM-11:00 PM, 40 hours/week (three 12's or four 10's is not an option) and be responsible for Type and Crossmatch, Complex Antibody Panels, Antigen testing, Direct Antiglobulin testing, Fetal Screens, Cord Blood workups, and Transfusion Reaction Investigations. Assignment requires a weekend/holiday rotation. (Assignment includes 2 weekends a month and holidays as needed.
